A FTSE-listed Hospitality Group based in Bedfordshire have asked us to find a qualified accountant with a background in audit and controls to join their Internal Audit team.
The Internal Auditor will provide independent, objective assurance around the Group’s risk management and internal control environment, across the UK and internationally.
The Group has performed well and is in very good health despite this challenging period for the sector. They continue to expand internationally and have enjoyed a very positive 2021.
The role is based in Bedfordshire and allows for flexible working. Travel is minimal but occasional trips to Europe may be required on occasion.
Salary is between £50,000 and £60,000, 10% bonus and a wide range of corporate benefits.
The role:
- Help devise annual audit plan, involving risk assessments and liaison with senior stakeholders
- Plan and scope internal audit reviews
- Understand design of key controls and determine testing approach considering risk analysis and data analytics
- Carry out testing
- Co-ordinate and work alongside co-source/specialists
- Draft reports with clear concise recommendations for the business
- Present findings and agree remedial actions
- Monitor implementation of recommendations and assist in reporting to the Board and Audit Committee
Preferred skills/certification:
- ACA or equivalent with 1yr+ PQE
- Big 4/Top 10 internal/external audit background
- Professional scepticism and sound judgment
- Ability to build relationships and challenge senior stakeholders
- Excellent report writing
- Data analytics skills a plus
