UK SOX Consultant - FTSE 250 Business - 6-12 Month Fixed Term Contract

The Audit & Risk Recruitment Company (ARRC) are working with a FTSE 250 business who is looking to hire in anticipation of ‘UK SOX’, ‘SOX lite’, or the impending legal obligation placed on UK businesses to implement the recommendations of the Brydon Report. Sitting within the Finance function, our client is looking to hire an Internal Controls / SOX implementation specialist who can use their understanding of what UK SOX will entail and their prior experience in Internal Controls implementation programmes to help make sure that Finance and Audit are fit-for-purpose when the legislation comes into effect.

Key responsibilities will include performing a complete gap analysis to understand what controls are already in place and which will need to be implemented. You will help the business put in place an internal controls framework that meets the suspected requirements of UK SOX. You will use your stakeholder engagement skills to advise and inform the business on changes that will occur under UK SOX, and their new obligations. You will assist with the hiring of new team members who can help implement and maintain the company’s UK SOX compliance programme. During the duration of your contract, you will be the ‘go to’ person for internal enquiries related to UK SOX and the internal controls framework.

The ideal candidate for this role will have experienced a SOX implementation or an equivalent programme of Internal Controls implementation. ACA/ACCA qualification will be highly regarded. You will have a keen knowledge of the recommendations written in the Brydon Report and be able to convey the effect that UK SOX could have on a large business that has previously had no such obligations. You will have excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work with all levels of seniority up to C-level.
